The Soledad Experience
The treatment experience at Soledad House is set up so that patients enter and receive hands-on care and treatment, but eventually transition to a more independent living arrangement. At Soledad House Women’s Addiction Treatment, our goal is to for you to achieve comprehensive healing. Because of this, we place an emphasis on physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health.
Soledad follows a 12-step program approach. This allows patients to mark their progress, and it makes continued treatment easier in the future.
The Soledad experience aims to be serene, calm and relaxing. Since recovering from addiction can be very challenging, the environment helps to balance and reduce some of that stress. Additionally, another aim of Soledad’s programs is to propel women out of addiction and into fulfilling, productive lives in society.
At the core of the Soledad Women’s Addiction Treatment experience is a vast array of programs for patients. These programs strengthen health, provide education and help prevent relapse. Some example of our programs include:
- Individual and group therapy sessions
- Exercise therapy
- Onsite and offsite 12-step meetings
- Relapse prevention education
- Family therapy programs
- Aftercare programs
- Spirituality and recovery
Phase 1 and Phase 2
Programs at Soledad are broken up into Phase 1 and Phase 2. Phase 1 takes place in the low-traffic, secure, women’s only facility. After a set amount of time, when patients achieved their goals and are ready, they can begin the move to Phase 2.
Phase 2 is a transition to sober living homes within a mile of the main facility. This offers patients more freedom, allowing them to set their own schedules. However, the accountability and peer support are still readily available.
Daily Schedule at Soledad House Women’s Addiction Treatment
Many patients benefit tremendously from a daily schedule. Because our patients spend a good amount of time with us, they’re able to hold on to these skills even after rehab is over.
At Soledad Women’s Addiction Treatment, the day might start with morning meditation, which leads right into an AA meeting. Next, chores and breakfast bring residents together. Group meetings might fill the morning, and lunch can be a time to relax and chat with peers.
After some time alone to reflect, relax or read, an education group can provide new skills and awareness. Then, free time in the afternoon may be for individual therapy or fun activities. Dinner is a fun, social activity where patients can celebrate the joy they find in sobriety together.
